Poem in May

Helicopter eye overhead
The drone of surveillance
The relief of protection

Young cyclist suddenly spills
Hits the hard road surface
Bright red blood Runs
And gathers on his knuckle
Red flags of vulnerability
Our common bond

Yellow wildflowers outside my
window
Faces open to sun and wind
My eye lingers on them
Envying their normality
