    Scott Perna, PsyD, is a psychologist in private practice in San Francisco. As a therapist for 30 years, he has practiced with a wide variety of populations, including inmates in a maximum security prison, addicts in intensive outpatient programs, victims of childhood sexual abuse, residents of low income housing, and the military. Before becoming a therapist, he received his undergraduate degree in film from NYU. He is most interested in how psychotherapy, as it is practiced, both defies and defends dominant political ideologies. He was recently published in Hermeneutic Approaches to Interpretive Research (2022, Philip Cushman, Editor) and currently enjoys his time on the editorial staff at Critica.
