The world is wondrous
Majesty of Mountains
Gleaming dazzling
Oceans, Rivers, streams
Miracle of all living beings
New life
Underwater and on land
The Sun, moon and stars
Bees, butterflies, birds
Pollinating the earth
Trees, shrubs and plants
Giving us sustenance
The marvel of our humanity
Our connectivity, empathy
Our minds
Our creativity
And yet
We humans have fouled
Our own backyards
In the name of progress
Polluting the land
Noxious chemicals
Burn pits, Coal pits
Sputtering fossil Fuels
Invade our atmosphere
Contract our breath
Industrial plastics
Found in our lungs
The food we eat
The detritus of our existence
Creating floating islands
Of trash upon our seas
Endangering
Ocean life, birds
All living beings
Existential climactic
Catastrophe
Floods, Fires
Drought, famine
Heat waves, tsunamis
Forcing people to leave their homes
Their countries
Migrate
Seeking higher ground
Cooler climes
Freedom, opportunity
Survival
Fouled
