Remember
you are this universe and
this universe
is you.
– Joy Harjo
Universe, live in me.
Show yourself
In the sky-mirror,
In time and glass,
In soft animal faces,
Curved plant leaves,
And gentle human eyes.
I want to see my face in you,
Universe, but the clamor?
It’s pretty loud lately.
They say I don’t belong.
That I’m crazy,
Because I know. myself. better.
Than a piece of light-blue paper
Printed at my birth,
Like a cartoon sky trying
To be nebulae.
How many genders
Do you have,
Universe? If there is life
On other planets,
Are they “binary”?
Quantum reality
Speaks to something
Bigger than two, doesn’t it?
Scattering blue-green
Skies of silvery stars…
Until dust performs Us, eventually.
